Splash and a Spray

When you combine fragrant essential oils and aroma compounds, fixatives and solvents, you get a perfume that can soothe the mind and give you a pleasant scent. Depending on the amount and type of solvent you mix with the essential oils, you get a perfume extract or parfum, eau de parfum, eau de toilette, or eau de cologne.

Types of perfume:

In fact, these are the four types of perfume-eau de toilette, eau de parfum and eau de cologne:

Apart from these four types, perfumes can also be found in two more forms-a body splash and a body spray. If you do use these kinds, you will find that there are a couple of differences between these two. First, there is the difference of fragrance between them; secondly, there lies a difference in the method of application of each of them.

Third, a body spray is made with homemade soaps and lotions that you spray on yourself whenever you want to. It is light in fragrance and refreshing and so is generally used after a bath. Fourth, since a spray bottle is sealed all the time, it has a longer shelf life, but if you do choose between them, it is purely a case of personal preference.

You need not depend on the big perfumeries or stores to supply you with branded body splashes. Now, you can make your own homemade body splash that is a genuine kitchen product-made by you and for you.

Here's a recipe you can try with citrus peels:

Ingredients:

Directions: Mix together the fruit peels with vodka in a jar and let it remain there for a week. Now, strain the liquid, add the essential oils and water to it and let it stand for the next two weeks. Each day, shake the jar once and then stand it in a cool dark area.

Now that you know the differences between body splash and spray, you can make an intelligent choice between them and enjoy using it.
